Northern Ireland Assembly Elections 2011

On 5 May 2011, 108 members of the Northern Ireland Assembly were elected, the first time that a devolved government in Northern Ireland had sought re-election since 1968.

The results

108 members were elected to the  Assembly; each of the existing 18 parliamentary constituencies in Northern Ireland elected 6 members of the new body by the Single Transferable Vote. See spreadsheet archive.

The basis for comparison in the above table is the change in vote for candidates with the same party label from 2007. Thus I have not calculated a figure for McFarland, Purvis or McMenamin, who were independent candidates in 2011 but ran under a party designation in 2007. McCord ran as an independent both times, so a comparison is possible, and has been calculated. I have also calculated a change for the People Before Profit Alliance based on the vote of the Socialist Environmental Alliance in 2007, as it is basically the same organisation.
