The seminar on 14 June 2019 marked the release of the 2018 Northern Ireland Life and Times (NILT) Survey. Dr Gail Neill (Ulster University) and Dr Siobhán McAlister (Queen’s University Belfast) explored public attitudes to transgender people.

A welcoming Northern Ireland? Understanding sentiment towards asylum seekers and refugees
In this seminar on 22 November 2018, Lucy Michael (Ulster University) reviewed data from the 2017 Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey and Young Life and Times Survey on attitudes to refugees, asylum seekers and ethnic minorities. In addition, considered the extent to which refugees both represent a unique focus for attention within the immigrant population and also offer a proxy for other kinds of views on immigration.
