Carers NI and the ARK Ageing Programme Seminar
To mark the start of Carers week we are pleased to host a seminar by ARK Ageing Programme Visiting Fellow Professor Sue Yeandle.
This seminar will offer a perspective based on ongoing research on the emergence and impact of carers organisations in Europe, North America, Australia-New Zealand and East Asia and their gradual progress towards the formation of an international carers movement.
This seminar was held on Monday 8 June 2015, from 12:00 - 13:00, in Room 8K14B, Boardroom, Ulster University Jordanstown.
Launch of the 2014 Young Life and Times (YLT) and Kids’ Life and Times (KLT) surveys
2014 Young Life and Times (YLT) and Kids’ Life and Times (KLT) surveys were published at an event at Queen’s University Belfast.
The two annual surveys are undertaken by ARK, a joint initiative by Queen’s University and Ulster University. The surveys aim to give insights into the lives of children and young people across Northern Ireland at important life stages, namely when they have reached the end of their primary school education (KLT) and when they are 16 years old (YLT).
The launch event focused on autism and rights and was addressed by Koualla Yiasouma, the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People.

2014 Young Life and Times (YLT) and Kids’ Life and Times (KLT) surveys were published at an event at Queen’s University Belfast.
This seminar focuses on 'Children and young people’s awareness, knowledge, and attitudes towards autism in Northern Ireland'.

Representing Age
This event marked the launch of a branch of the British Society of Gerontology in Northern Ireland (BSGNI). The aim of the society is to increase awareness of social gerontology, and to develop a vibrant, cross sector, social gerontology research network within Northern Ireland.
