This seminar focused on human rights issues in relation to adult safeguarding. Professor John Williams (University of Aberystwyth) discussed the need to balance an individual’s right to private family life with the statutory duty of care. He also explored issues around consent and capacity, highlighting the differences and similarity in legislation in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
