Introduction
March and it's another busy time of year for the ARK team with our 2015 surveys being prepared for launch. Like many of you, we are also busy writing proposals for funding for all our various activity and awaiting news of several proposals currently under consideration.
Dates for your diary - Survey launches
The launch of the key findings from the Kids' Life and Times and Young Life and Times 2015 surveys will take place on the morning of 19 April 2016. The event will be held in The Canada Room, Queen's University, Belfast. The surveys looked at a number of interesting topics and of particular interest this year will be Sport and Shared Education.
15 June 2016 will see the launch of the Northern Ireland life and Times survey at the Belfast campus of Ulster University.
Further details on both events will be available shortly.
Important new collections added to Accounts of the Conflict
Two new collections have been added to Accounts of the Conflict.
The Memory Project collection by the Smashing Times Theatre company is an exciting, innovative arts programme that uses drama and theatre to deal with the past and build pathways for the future and to promote peace, reconciliation and mutual understanding in Northern Ireland and the southern border counties.
Interviews are now available on Accounts of the Conflict.
The Green and Blue Across the Thin Line collection contains 39 stories that were compiled as part of a project with the aim: 'To develop a storytelling project reflecting the cooperation and interaction between former members of Royal Ulster Constabulary and former members of An Garda Siochana along the border from the establishment of the two Police Forces to 2001.'
Interviews are now available on Accounts of the Conflict.
Looking for information on research in Northern Ireland - try ORB
The Online Research Bank is a collection of searchable databases containing bibliographies and summaries of research focused on the lives of adults and children in Northern Ireland. There are currently two databases - the ORB Social Policy Database which consists of social policy documents based on research carried out in Northern Ireland since 1990 and the ORB Children and Young People's Research Database which concentrates on research carried out with children and young people in Northern Ireland since 2000.
