Gemma Carney, Paula Devine and Elizabeth Martin attended the 45th Annual conference, which had the theme ‘Communities in Later Life: Engaging with Diversity’. The ARK Ageing Programme team was well represented throughout the conference programme:

  • Gemma organised the symposium ‘Situated Knowledge of Ageing: Learning from feminist research and praxis in Art and Science’
  • Gemma’s paper discussed ‘Re-constructing the science of research on ageing: primate visions and the spectre of old age’
  • Elizabeth gave an oral presentation which explored ‘Using a feminist informed methodology to give a voice to marginalised women’
  • Paula presented a paper titled ‘What do children think about old age? Segregation, integration and the ‘bookend generations’
  • Paula presented the poster ‘Look closer!  Public attitudes and knowledge of dementia in Northern Ireland’
